Pentagon ‘reaffirms’ Microsoft as winner of $10B JEDI cloud contract; Amazon attraction nonetheless pending

The U.S. Division of Protection stood by its choice to award a coveted $10 billion cloud computing challenge to Microsoft, regardless of Amazon’s objections and past speculation that the Pentagon may decide to separate the deal within the face of a court docket problem from the Seattle tech big.

“The Department has completed its comprehensive re-evaluation of the JEDI Cloud proposals and determined that Microsoft’s proposal continues to represent the best value to the Government,” the DoD said in a statement today. It added, “While contract performance will not begin immediately due to the Preliminary Injunction Order issued by the Court of Federal Claims on February 13, 2020, DoD is eager to begin delivering this capability to our men and women in uniform.”
